My 2019 automatic diesel, 30,000 miles has started to lose oil from the same casing join in the bell housing. It was fixed by Nissan 6 months ago, at great expense. I think that the Nissan garage is going to mend it again, but I'm worried about the future. My wife and I are pensioners, and use the car lightly. It feels like a pig in a poke, I wouldn't want to have to sell it with this in the service history. Is this a common issue?

Sorry, I'm new to the forum, should I add more details about the car?

Hi when you take it back to nissan it shouldn't cost you anything as only been on the car 6months. But ask them how long they should last for πŸ˜‰

That was the big point, how long a repair is warrantied for. They seem to be saying 12 months, though I've never seen that written down.

I can see that I will have to get it up on the ramp of the local garage -not Nissan- where i get my MOT's done, every 6 months or so, I get the impression that it isn't. a common problem. Though I was remembering old cars 50 years ago, and you kind of accepted an oil leak in the middle of the drive as the norm. But that seems a long time ago. I tried to make a complaint to Nissan, as the car was only 6 months out of warranty. They have their complaints office on Paris. I failed dismally, a bruising experience.
