All we are asking for is an up to date sd card for a 2015 65 plate car costing about 20 grand ! I don't think we are asking for much.

The current map was penned in 2013 I think and the mapping supplier has not yet superseded this map. Would it satisfy you if they altered the indicator on the map to tell the date the file was copied [like the week before delivery] rather than when the map was last updated?
If its the latest map, its the latest map. If it isn't good enough for your mapping needs I suggest you either like it or lump it. Eventually, if you are lucky, they might supply a map that is revised, but still likely to be six months to a year out of date by the very nature of the product. Should you wish for the most up to date map possible you should use a connected device.

This may well not sit well with some people by the looks of it, but this is real practical life not a fairy story where children are indulged with their every whim granted.
I doubt you would get any different if you paid £40k for a car. In fact I know you wouldn't. I once travelled with friends in a Mercedes GL with factory sat-nav. Like my Audi it didn't accept full postcodes. So I took my mobile Garmin and another friend had his TomTom, a very new model. Both our mobile devices accepted the full postcode. However, when we came to one junction, can't remember where but only about 15 miles from the destination, one sat nave said 'turn left', the Mecedes said 'straight on' and the other said 'turn right'. This had us all scratching our heads before laughing out loud in stitches.

Easy ... who needs a integrated navigation system ....
I update my phone sat nav...when I turn it on as is the case with anyone who has an android phone.

I don't need to update my eyes to be able to see road signs, they self update, I do recharge them every night but that's common for most people.

I don't really understand why I would need to "refresh my map reading skills" I went to school and undertook a class called geography, admittedly at a basic level I never took it past GSCE level, but the ability to understand the basics of a map were instilled into me at this early stage in my life

I would suggest in actual fact the no one NEEDS an integrated navigation system, if actual fact not so long ago it was almost recommended that you don't opt for an integrated system simply because they were most proprietary and therefore didn't get updates as regularly as something like a Tom Tom. Your car has an airbag, do you feel it necessary to use that? it has collision reduction automatic braking, do you just leave the car to stop for you when you are trawling along in a traffic jam? My suspicion is that you don't as if you did there would be a issue that I am sure you would find with these or many other non essential features of your cars.

Ultimately all of you angry people have decided to purchase a cheap family car, as has my OH. You have not gone and secured a premium motor vehicle, yes the QQ is a reasonable car, but build quality is pretty guff, plastic quality is laughable in many areas, there are obvious design issues both mechanically and cosmetically its an escort 1.3GL if we roll back the clock 25 years. Even if you got the Nav updated right now today, as someone else claimed there are 30k +changes a year or something similar...by tomorrow its OUT OF DATE by definition.

Be concerned with important things people, do not fill you minds with anger and disillusionment about such trivial matters that really have no effect on your life or the quality of it. Do you want to be lying on your death bed remembering how annoyed you got and how much time you wasted on the QQ navigation? I feel the same about this post

Navteq and now Here refreshes maps at least two times each year. It's the manufacturer who chooses to implement them.

Nice thought.. wait the system has the ability to connect. They even name it connect. So i am good then ;(
One of the contenders, the Mazda CX5 uses a integrated Tomtom system. Map updates on an regular basis. The brother brand Renault uses a system with regular yearly updates (at very low costs) (Rlink uses tomtom to)
And remember, it's not we are not willing to pay for it. It's a part of the car that need servicing and i am willing to pay. So why do you have a problem with that?

Actually Here sell their updated maps directly to the consumer for all brands listed on their website. You do not have to go through Nissan or their dealer and it really has nothing to do with Nissan except that Nissan initially chose to use Here for their mapping service.
If Here update their maps twice a year, they certainly don't do so universally for all brands. They just don't. You can't spend money on something that doesn't exist.
It would be far more productive [in theory] to complain to Here about their lack of updates, which would fill their coffers with nearly £200 of your cash, potentially every six months after all, than complaining to or about Nissan in this respect.

Had you read the initial listing you would find Nissan themselves update the map data from Here for Nissan Vehicles according to information supplied to me by Here. I don't know why these listing don't continue on a timeline like most forums

No, you are wrong. Itś Nissan who decides to arrange for updates.

Don't know what makes you believe that. The maps are supplied by Here, formerly Navtech, who have just been sold out by Nokia to a consortium consisting of VAG/BMW/Mercedes.

Just as an example, they supply map updates for most car brands and aftermarket brands also and I just had a look at Land Rover at random.
Here is their latest map data description

Land Rover Gen2.1 HDD Europe 2016
1 USB Stick covering Europe. This Land Rover Map Update covers 37 countries with newly updated data, including 4 910 163 POIs such as petrol stations, airports, hotels and restaurants.
* Map data collected by HERE at the Q3/14.
END

So this data is only slightly newer than the Qashqai's and already the data is a year old in October 2015 and described as being a 2016 map.
Nissan Connect 1 does have a couple of updates available through Here, including a 2014/15 map and a very recent speed camera update dated Sept 2015.

These are accessed through the Here portal which directs to a car branded set of pages for each car brand. It is purely a Here product contracted to the car brands. Pay your near £200 if you like and you will have the latest map and traffic camera alerts for your Nissan Connect1.

Alternatively you could use the existing map and your brain and retain £200 in your wallet. Your choice.

Yet another alternative is to spend your £200 on a Tom-tom Go Live 5000 with lifetime updates
