Thanks Lanstrom. I spoke to Nissan Customer Services yesterday and can categorically say they are the worst customer services department I have EVER dealt with. The outcome is that they said "they are under no obligation to assist me financially". So, I'll pay the money to get it fixed, sell the car when I can afford something different and make sure I NEVER buy a Nissan again.
My advice to anyone with 2014 plate Qashai and a warranty due to expire in the coming months would be to keep checking the aircon over the Autumn/Winter to avoid a nasty/expensive surprise in Spring 2018.
Cheers
Lucas

Agreed. They are truly BAD !
If I were you I would start spamming their Facebook postings. That was the only way I could get a decent response out of them. Make a reference to this forum and state the words 'inherent fault' and that you will take it up with a solicitor if they fail to act.
Don't let them win !

Hi all
Just had the same issue with air con develop on my qashqai but nissan are very reluctant to give me a timeline on their diagnostic, how long typically do you think I'll have to wait while their diagnostics are ongoing as they are unwilling to provide a courtesy car so may look to wait close to the dealership.
Thanks in advance

The first garage I took it to had the car all day and said they couldn't find a fault. The second garage opened the bonnet and said they spotted it straight away (probably because they knew what they were looking for). Shouldn't take them long at all if its the condenser !ioperfect wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2017 1:00 pm Hi all

Hi Langstrom
Thanks for the info. That sounds about right went to two diff garages big chains as well who couldnt even look at it due to it being a new style air con system apparantly!
As it's the Nissan dealership they mentioned it's the condenser when I booked it in as it's apparantly a common fault (as this thread has indicated!). Hopefully won't take long to diagnose and I will hang around and get breakfast. Thanks for the info.

Hi all. The reason I joined this forum was to share some info about a couple of problems I've had with my Qashqai. Since mine failed a couple of weeks ago, I've done some Googling around and found it seems to be a common problem and that Nissan aren't very givish in responding. I'ts particularly inconvenient when you're living in 30 plus temps here in Spain. Anyway, my local garage having kept me waiting a week or more for a courtesy car, managed to diagnose the problem with a working day. Here's what they found.
O.K. Need to find out how to insert an image. I'll post the pic later when I've sussed it.
Nope, that doesn't seem to work. Help welcomed.

Hi All.
Recently noticed our air con was not very cold at all, so booked it in to Nissan to be looked at under warranty. They have said they can't find any leaks and it needs a regas, which costs £149. I thought I'd do a bit of research and found this thread and now I'm wondering if I need a second opinion. The warranty expires next month and I will be mighty annoyed if I spend £150 on a regas and it doesn't solve the problem, and it turns out to be a condenser that is no longer covered by the warranty. What do you guys think?
Does anyone know the cheapest way of getting a regas, the dealer mentioned that places like Kwik-Fit can't do them due to a special gas or something?

Go to a specialist. They will test the pressures,. Just to say that they shouldn't fill it if there's a known leak. Took mine to a specialist and showed me where the leaks were. Booked in tomorrow with another dealer to assess. My specialist in West Wales has seen a lot of qashqai's
