When I first got the car I dropped pressures down 4 pounds each tyre most of my runs iam on my own then pick up grandson and the dog and don't have any problems with the ride...but if you want big alloys and low profile tyres that look good then that's the price....david

I have both 17'' (winter) and 19'' (summer) tyres. the 19'' is more noisy, but rides fine

I am going to get some 16 or 17” wheels, and wondered what alloy/tyre set up you have gone for?

I assume the stud pattern is the same for 17” Nissan wheels as my 2015 19” rims?

And did you need the tyre valve pressure sensor fitted?

TPMS valves must be fitted.

Thanks for that, would you know if the 2008/10 16” alloys would be the same stud pattern as my 2015?

DGL75, Nissan’s have Std Wheel Bolt Pitches just check the number of holes, Pitches will be the same, take a look at the attachment or use the “Search” Area for more information - Dave 🤨

Bolt Pattern :
The bolt pattern or bolt circle is an imaginary circular diameter formed by the centers of the wheel lugs. Nissan and Infiniti vehicles come with bolt patterns utilizing 4, 5, or 6 lug holes and they are relatively standardized.
A 4-lug Nissan vehicle (including Infiniti and Datsun) will have a bolt pattern of 4 x 114.3. (4 lugs, 114.3mm apart).

A 5-lug Nissan vehicle (including Infiniti and Datsun) will have a bolt pattern of 5 x 114.3. (5 lugs, 114.3mm apart).

A 6-lug Nissan vehicle (including Infiniti and Datsun) will have a bolt pattern of 6 x 114.3. (6 lugs, 114.3mm apart).

So, when you hear someone say, “five on one-fourteen”, you’ll know they’re talking about a 5-lug wheel that will likely fit a Nissan! Simple enough, right? Also, you may see wheels where the bolt pattern is listed in SAE (non-metric) specs. In this case, it would be 4.5″ (instead of 114.3mm). “Five on four-point-five” – Now you sound like a pro!
When looking to change the factory rims on your vehicle you will be asked what bolt pattern is utilized as not all automakers use the same patterns as your vehicle. As an example, the factory 4-lug 240sx bolt pattern is 4 x 114.3 whereas Honda uses a 4 x 100. In this scenario, the rims are not interchangeable between vehicles. It should be noted that some aftermarket rim manufacturers do provide universal-fit rims which have elongated lug holes (or 8-10 holes which cover multiple bolt patterns) which will fit a wider range of vehicles. These are generally not as desireable, and typically appear on lower-end wheel designs.

Center Bore :
The center bore relates to the size of the hole in the center of the wheel. When purchasing aftermarket wheels, it is wise to ensure the center bore is the same diameter as that of the hub. This is termed as being hub-centric and ensures the wheel is perfectly centered. If the center bore is larger, you should purchase a hub-ring in order to ensure the wheel is properly centered and hubcentric. Not utilizing a hub-ring means you are lug-centric and solely utilizing the lugs to center the wheels instead of the lugs and the hub. NOTE: The Center Bore for most Nissan Vehicles is 66.1mm (more useful information you’ll need while shopping for new wheels).

Thank you Dave, that is very useful info, I have just sourced some 16" Nissan alloys with 65 profile tyres and I'm about to buy them.

I thought its probably best to ask you guys the important question first.....

Will these wheels and tyres make for a smoother , less crashy ride over rough roads then our current 19" wheels and 45 profiles?

Now i understand its all very personal opinion but we have a 2 mile stretch of broken, potholed, gravelly, muddy road to navigate twice a day on the school run, the mrs would (like) to be a bit more relaxed when driving the route, so I'm thinking a second hand set of alloys with deep wall tyres would do the trick...

Im hoping these will smooth out the rough terrain, thoughts?

all in my humble opinion.....

You will get a less harsh ride but remember some of the harshness comes from the suspension which (I feel) is quite firm on a QQ.
Certainly firmer than any of the RAV4s I've owned and/or driven.
You should find that the higher profile tyre wall "absorbs" some of the roughness but remember that you will also experience a bit more of a "wallow" in corners as those higher tyre walls flex.

Hi all,

Quick update, I have managed to get some second hand alloys from fleabay with 4 decent tyres.

I put them on and wow, what a difference, the crashing nature of the 45 profile tyres has gone.

Our route to our school is now a pleasure, and now I don5 care about the inevitable curbing!

Thanks to you all for great advice 👍🏻
