Let’s hope the new kit is more waterproof than the current parking sensors are!

If its as good and simple to use as the system fitted to my 2017 Volvo XC90, I can highly recommend it for dual carriageway and motorway driving. It is superb.

Just some comments and updates on ProPILOT - Dave :)

Nissan announced on 10.01. that it reached the milestone of selling 75,000 vehicles equipped with its ProPILOT Assist autonomous driving technology (known as ProPILOT in markets outside North America). Nissan has introduced ProPILOT technology in four models in Japan and the U.S., with more on the way. ProPILOT embodies Nissan's commitment to making vehicles safer and more exciting to drive through its advanced technologies, part of the company's Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision for changing how cars are powered, driven and integrated into society.

ProPILOT was introduced into SERENA, X-TRAIL, Nissan LEAF in Japan, Rogue in US in 2017, and the Qashqai will be in Europe in 2018. A multi-lane autonomous driving technology will enable automatic lane changes on highways and is planned for introduction in 2018 while autonomous driving on urban roads and in intersections is planned for launch in 2020.

It won’t be as good as Volvo as they use a fusion system of camera and radar which is safer and vastly reduces false positives. This is unlike the new J11 minor change qashqai which just uses radar and goes off willy nilly and in my case on approach to right hand bends. I also had emergency brakes engage for no reason!
I’ve been advised it is doing what it should recognising metal items such as signposts and is more sensitive than previous models. In my opinion it is not fit for purpose and they need more refining before proceeding!

I’m looking to source a radar cradle for Nissan Qashqai 2017 j11. The radar is fine but cradle is damaged and needs replacing. I have went to Nissan centre 2 wks ago and paid for part, now on back order - I went back on Friday they are still looking at 6/8 wks which isn’t much help. I’ve tried a few breakers but part is too small and the ones I’ve went to don’t hold the part - any suggestions re sourcing?

Just a thought, but if the cradle is damaged then how can you be sure the radar unit still works properly?

Hi Gel, Thanks for the response on this new Pro-Pilot Model. I have looked at your attachment and was surprised because the only options available are dCi models no mention of a petrol. I wonder if what was posted today on the QQ petrol model is taking effect.
Attached is the Nissan Blurb FYI - Dave :)
