Its a great idea, however I would need to remove both lamp clusters in this procedure and I am not confident about doing it myself. I might have a go at removing the one that’s not working just in case i can spot a loose wire or something. A friend suggested contacting an auto-electrician who might be equipped to sort it out?

Wow, thank you my friend. I will give this a try. I really appreciate your support. I will let you know how it goes.

Tried to remove the corner assembly but the wire cluster would not detach (see picture), I tried squeezing the black casing in various places but it would not separate, and I didn’t want to brake it. I have also noticed the rear license plate lighting doesn’t work. All other lights work including the blake lights. I am stuck for ideas now.

Is it one you have to put a screwdriver blade down?

Yes, Possibly so. I took one other photo and theres a slot in the plastic, but the main purpose of the slot is to mount it on a plastic spine built into the main casing. I tried a couple of times to lever it with a flat screwdriver but it wasn’t doing anything that I could see.

Hi, are you absolutely certain it's not a fuse problem? Either failed or a lousy connection perhaps. Seems likely as the licence plate lights have failed as well. Yaesu

Update: the Nissan garage (different one) have investigated and discovered that somehow the license plate light that blew, caused the IPDM Intelligent Power Distribution Module (to be damaged and needs to be replaced. This will be a significant cost. The garage will see if Nissan will contribute to the cost. I don’t understand why or how this could happen. Bring back the pony and trap!

Apparently Nissan have agreed to cover the new ipdm. This leaves me with a bill of over £300 for labour etc. I have agreed.

£300 for a blown bulb!

Yet another reason not to buy a Qashqai !!!!!

(Several hours labour to rectify?)
