windscreen washer pump

hi I do not know if its true but had to have the pump replaced as told using cheap windscreen wash from wilkos etc its to much salt in it and turns to gunk and burns motors out, as was told but been using it for years in all my cars with no problem so think nissan need to rethink there pumps to make stronger to handle, and told to use nissans own brand???????????

Was the fluid really the reason for your problem or was it mechanical for another reason. Why buy such cheap stuff there are so many different products on the market at reasonable prices. I have also used stuff from Lidl and cannot remember ever having a problem - Dave :)

thanks for the reply, thats the reason they gave me as had to replace pump (under warranty) as was broke but do appreciate our advice on washers fluids

I've used Halfords washer fluid concentrate bought in bulk for years. Never had any issues. Skoda fluid does smell very nice though when it's put it at a service!
