J10 rear pads - backing plate question

Newbie here so first off, hello!
I went to replace the rear pads on my 2013 (j10) Qashqai yesterday. I bought the Brembo pads as they were on offer.
My question is this: on the original (Nissan) Pads there are two layers of metal plate that clip onto the pads. I assumed they need to transfer? However on the new Brembo pads there are pins/lugs sticking out that mean the plates won't clip on.
Are these plates necessary or can I just put the pads in as is? If so I guess I'd need either new plates, or swap the pads for something that fits!
