J10 rear pads - backing plate question

Newbie here so first off, hello!

I went to replace the rear pads on my 2013 (j10) Qashqai yesterday. I bought the Brembo pads as they were on offer.
My question is this: on the original (Nissan) Pads there are two layers of metal plate that clip onto the pads. I assumed they need to transfer? However on the new Brembo pads there are pins/lugs sticking out that mean the plates won't clip on.

Are these plates necessary or can I just put the pads in as is? If so I guess I'd need either new plates, or swap the pads for something that fits! :)

I put the new pads in which already come with backing plates fitted and binned the old plates with the pads. Ditto on the fronts.

use the metal plates that came with brembo pads. No rocket science here.
with EBC pads you get the same.

Sorry, should've been clear : the pads didn't come with plates, which was the reason for the original question. So I need to take them back? The box was sealed so assumed this was how they were meant to come.
