Service interval

Hi - I have a new 1.3 Dig-T PS140 QQ Tekna. The service interval is 18000 miles or 12 months. Since I drive a low mileage I will require an annual service.
Nissan offer major services for £269 and minor for £199.

What will my year 1, 2 and 3 services be ? ( major / minor )

Sorry - I searched but didn’t find a definite answer to my specific question. So thanks for confirming that major & minor services alternate.
Which comes first - major or minor ? ( reason for question is that I am obtaining quotes for a Nissan service plan. Since I am leasing the car the quotes don’t seem that competitive so need to weigh service plan cost against total cost of servicing over 3 year period paying as I go.)

Kezzaa, we are in the same boat. We have a 2014 QQ 1,2L and also have a limited mileage of around 5000 / year. From New we had an Oil / Filter Change @ 600 miles to prevent any possible problems. Our Services have been carried out on a yearly basis inc Oil / Filter changes despite the low mileages and cost. Better to be Safe than Sorry.
Our 1st / 2nd Service was classed as Minor & the 3rd as a Major. After being in the Engineering & Maintenance Game most of my working life naturally Servicing is a High Priority. I would suggest a chat with your Dealer Service Dept regarding the Servicing although no doubt you will find they will stick to the Nissan Plan & Cost - Dave :)

Surely for low users, it still has to be minor, major, minor, major, etc since part of the major service is brake fluid change which has to be done every two years...

Dave , is a 600 mile oil and filter change part of the recommended / required servicing ?

I have the 1.3 Dig-T engine but wasn’t aware that servicing may be due before first annual/18000 mile service

Kezzaa, NO NO ! what I stated is what I agreed with our Dealer as my recommendation, absolutely nothing to do with Nissan. It was me just being careful about any metal parts Floating around in a new engine - most probably these days not a Problem just being over careful Dave :)

Phew - thanks Dave , you sent me scurrying off to my service/warranty booklet to check. Thankfully it states 1st service due at 18k/12 months. Service indicator on dashboard says the same.
It was a worthwhile exercise however as the manual recommends an interim oil / filter change for ‘extreme driving conditions’ which includes frequent short distance driving. So I may change the oil at 6 months

kezza,

Even though you do little millage, I would assume most of your journies are of a short duration/millage. I really would recommend as with any car to ensure you take it on a long drive (at least 30 mins) on open roads at least once per month. This allows the engine to get nice and warm (lots of good reasons), battery charged up, cat/particulate filters to clean themselves, let the aircon lubricate seals etc. etc etc.

Condensation/mayonnaise tends to occur during short journeys and this blocks vents etc.
