Hi
I just picked up my sept 2017 j11b n connecta qashqai and I must say I love it.
Only issue I have at present is the driver side seat belt
It retracts really slow and is loose when taking it off almost have to feed it a little before it goes back. It does retract just very slowly. I noticed it is fitted different than the others with the sort of stretchy plastic tube attached . Is this supposed to be like that ? If not how do I fix?
Still under warranty if I need to go to a dealer but prefer to sort myself if possible
Thanks

Pull it all the way out and check to see if its been twisted inside the column somehow. I had a Micra courtesy car and had to untwist that one.
I have no stretchy tubing or anything like that on mine, just normal belting disappearing into the central column.

It's at the bottom side like a rubber or plastic covering on it that looks stretchy. Rather than the passenger side being attached to a metal bar . Does your belt retract quickly?

Mine was the same on pick up (2017 model - nearly new). Pull the whole belt out and unfankle it.
There is someone in the dealership chain who is screwing these belts up. Somewhere between W. London and Brum?

What do you mean unfankle it? I have pulled the belt the whole way out and cleaned it a little. Seems a bit better but still not retracting as fast as it should - the bottom bit of the belt where the tensioner is seems to be causing the issue it is really lose - although maybe that is normal ? I haven't played about with these before

You have much greater patience than I would ever have, I would have been back at the dealer the next morning - not acceptable to have safety equipment not working correctly.

I know thing is i don't know if it isn't working correctly or not as i have no experience with this car - should the belt snap back to the holder as soon as it is realised from the buckle?
The place I got it from is an hour and a half drive away so hoping i can go to a closer dealer as still under warranty i assume belts are covered as standard?

Did you ever get this sorted? Thanks
