New car - SatNav & Wheelnuts

Hi all, I’m new to the forum and I’ve just ordered a Tekna+ so I’m now waiting for a delivery date. I have a few questions that I hope I’m asking in the right place!

1) Does it come with locking wheel nuts? I don’t seem to be able to find that out.
2) I understand that the satnav is tomtom based. I currently use a tomtom go5000 and I love it, does the Nissan system offer the same features with regards to speed camera warnings and traffic?
3) Does the traffic jam pilot work on normal roads (ie not motorways or dual carriageways)?

I’m uk if that’s relevant.

Thanks in advance!

1) I’ll check my Tekna tomorrow but my previous n-connecta certainly had locking nuts
2) Pretty sure that the satnav is not TomTom based
3) mine has never triggered but that’s because I haven’t run into a significant traffic problem

Hi
Yes you do get locking wheel nuts
Yes it’s Tom Tom bases so traffic alerts, but no speed cameras .Better to use google maps or waze via android auto or apple play
Hope it’s helps

Just out of interest when we bought our 2014 QQ these Locking Nuts were not even offered (Nissan Comment Country Spec) so we ordered them. Now with the new models these are itemised as being an extra priced at €59 - Dave 🤨

Hi
Just so you can see it’s in the Qashqai sales brochure. The app also allows you to send routes to car before travelling

The Traffic jams do get announced on the Nav systems before yours (Connecta 2017). l get a request to re-route on the screen on A roads. I was on a roundabout the other week when it happened. Its triggered via the DAB/FM radio as Traffic Announcements that can be switched Off/On. I would expect your later system to do that?

The SpeedCam function is illegal in France (of course!) and I suspect Nissan runs scared and denies to all of us. The EU thing perhaps...! Waze seems to be the popular approach.

Thought a locking wheel nut per wheel + key was standard stuff?

I also thought all Qashqais came with locking wheel nuts - certainly in the UK.

It is TomTom but customised a bit by Nissan - e.g. taking off speed camera alerts so expect to find changed/ reduced/ altered functionality.

I think you're actually referring to ProPILOT functionality here aren't you? Are you getting an automatic?

I've never tried one but full ProPILOT including "Traffic Jam Pilot" down to stationary level:

EASES DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC Based on the traffic flow, it can bring your QASHQAI to a complete stop and then bring it back up to speed when traffic starts moving again.

... only operates on automatics. (* see below for the difference between manual and auto)

Nissan also states:

ProPILOT is Intended for “Eyes on/ Hands On” for Highways only (road separated by Barriers).

and

ProPILOT is a revolutionary autonomous drive technology designed for highway use in single-lane traffic.

So not recommended on ordinary dual-direction roads - but DO let us know what happens when you try! :)

* - brochure description in Options section:

Drive Assist Pack (For Manual); Intelligent Cruise Control, Intelligent Lane Intervention, Lane Keep Assist**.
ProPILOT (For DCT/CVT); Drive Assist Pack, Traffic Jam Pilot.

Here's a long video - nearly thirty minutes - which I haven't watched through - but which might illuminate what ProPILOT does more fully:
