Hi Forum,

My wife’s J10b has been diagnosed by a garage as needing a new pdf. Soot level is very high and a regen won’t clear it.
New dpf quote is £500+

Is it a simple job to do diy?
I’m fairly handy removing/fitting parts, so could have a go.
Anyone know of any how-to quite out there?

Cheers

If you can change an exhaust back box, you can change a dpf. It's just like any part of the exhaust. No special tools needed, though obviously, a ramp would help.

Thanks for the reply.
I guessed it’d be something like changing a CAT.
I’ll give it a go and work it out!!

Just for info if there is any sign of DPF removal it is an instant MOT failure unless you have documentation to say why it was removed

I think the OP is replacing rather than removing?

Keep in mind that after changing DPF, you MUST reset DPF in ECU, otherwise it will get clogged by diesel particles!

Hi thanks for the replies 👍

I am indeed looking to replace rather than remove, but the replacement part is £500!!
I’m going to take it for a clean and let someone more qualified deal with it!

Appreciate your help though guys 👍

Looks like that's list?

There may be cheaper options - I found this for instance at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311317658851?var=0 - £112.99 delivered

Buyer beware of course....

That’s the one I looked at first, but it doesn’t fit our Qashqai. The one that does is the most expensive!!
