Always live fuse

Post by Juniortoon » Sat Jan 04, 2020 5:10 pm

Does anyone know of a fuse in the fuse box in the passenger footwell that is always live and therefore unaffected by the start stop. My dash cam is piggybacked into the cigarette lighter fuse but turns off and on again when start stop kicks in.
Thankyou.

For dashcams you need the windscreen wiper fuse which is behind the glovebox. It is in a dashcam subject thread on this forum. It won't be live on ignition off.

You don't want an always live feed for a dashcam - it would be always on and drain the battery.

Has anyone tried the fuses on the drivers side of the dash. the top two 10 amp appear to be ignition switched which would suit dash cam use. They are also more easily accessible than the ones behind the glove box.

It would be better to take the feed from the accessory socket since that's on immediately you open a door and goes off some time after you lock up.

This is useful to know Gloucester, can you point me in the direction of the fuse location for this accessory socket ;)
