1.5 dci takes an age to start when cold and also misfiring/stuttering

Hi all,

My 2014 1.5 dci struggles to start when it's cold it will eventually fire up and tick over but it is very lumpy and will sometimes cut out.

Aswell as that it has also developed a misfire it stutters away from anything above idle to 2000rpm.

Any ideas?

Thanks

When did you last do a service. Oil filter. Air filter and fuel filter change ? If you have done them all recent then i would get a set of glow plugs next and replace them. Should be running like new then 😀

Well it had a full service when we bought the car last April so is due a service around April time again I suppose. I'll look in to the glow plugs then would there be a fault code if the engine management light is not on?

Try a fuel system cleaner for £15. It sorted me out a couple of times in the past.

Glad its had a service but i doubt they would do the fuel filter. Unless you had a list of what they did service. No error codes for glow plugs. Set of 4 bosch plugs around £45 if it is those. And nothing wrong wirh pouring a bottle of stp fuel/injector cleaner into fuel tank every 3months around £4 a bottle.
