Good morning, this is my 1st post, please can I have some advice, I have just purchased a dashcam for my 2018 1.5 diesel qashqai, I have a 12 volt socket near the ' button ' handbrake and one in the armrest, please can somebody tell me which one, if any is not permanently live, as the last thing I need is a flat battery. Thank you in advance for your help

The front one...I think? Let me be corrected. I think its remembering to switch the cam off is the problem. So its common to jump (parallel fuse) the Windscreen wipers fuse. Info here and elsewhere:

unless newer models have changed...my 2016 model DEFFO the one under the armrest goes OFF after about 10 mins of turning off the engine while the one by the handbrake stays on. My dash cam plugged ino armrest goes off as proof of this. Should tell you in your QQ manual somewhere?

I use the armrest one on my 19 plate, turns off after about 3 mins.
19 plate 1.5dCi n-connecta in Magnetic Red

Have you considered Hardwiring it with a fuse tap? very easy to do (after searching on here) and saves you the worry...

I used the one in the armrest in my Qashqai

In my present car I've hardwired it with a piggy back fuse.
(2015 Nissan Qashqai Tekna DIG-T 1.2 sold 15/6/18) ~ 2018 Suzuki Ignis SZ5 - 2018 Yamaha MT-07 ~ (2024 Volvo EX30 ordered)
